So, now you have a literary agent…What’s next??
Many have asked me if this means my book will be coming out soon. As much as I wish that were true, it’s not that simple. There’s still more work to do. Now that I have a literary agent by my side, part of her job is to pitch my book to publishing companies, as well
as negotiate contracts and other important information. Publishing companies will not accept query letters from writers, and only work through agents. Plus, agents have an understanding and insight into what editors and publishers are looking for. So, the work continues. I am hopeful that a publisher will believe in my story and my message as much as I do. I have learned that you have to be very patient in this industry. Patience is something I continue to work on.
