Thank you to my friend Emily for sharing this Ted talk of Nora Mclnerly with me. For those who have suffered a loss or know someone who is grieving, I suggest you watch this video. I’m laughing and crying at the same time as her words resonate with me tremendously. I always hated the term “moving on” because you never truly do. You move forward. I love the way she incorporates humor while also speaking honest words. I can relate to many feelings she addresses and expand on them in my book. Grief is a roller coaster ride that you never fully get off of. The people we lose will always be a part of us. “My love for Aaron, my grief for Aaron and my love for Matthew are not opposing forces. They are just strands to the same thread.”
