I would like to start my first blog by thanking all of those who helped me get to where I am today. For those who know me, I’m sure this comes as a big shock. Not because I wrote my story down, but the fact I decided to share it with the world. How such a private person, is now disclosing something so raw and personal. I feel it’s time to tell my story to hopefully help others realize they are not alone. I also want the world to know and remember a #hero Sgt Edward Bolen. The man with a heart of gold and a smile brighter than the sun.
Without the love and support from my amazing family and friends, I would not be where I am today. Thank you to those who stayed by my side when I was at my worst. Thank you to everyone who encouraged me to find happiness again. And a big thank you to my friends who encouraged me to write my story down.
To my military friends, you were brought into my life by chance and very quickly became family. I will forever cherish our time together at Ft Polk, as well as the memories we’ve made since.
And finally thank you to my husband Arash. Your love made me whole again. You’ve given me a life I didn’t think was possible. I’m grateful for you each and every day.
