I have great news to share about the availability of my memoir “Who Are You Calling a Widow?” I decided to take my book into my own hands. What does that mean exactly? Two words, Self Publishing! A scary but very exciting endeavor. One where I have full control over my vision and hopes for this book. Thank you to my literary agent Terrie for your support and encouragement over the past year.
So what does that mean? It means I have a ton of work to do! Three incredible beta readers offered their time to read my story and provide feedback. I have consumed a large amount of my time editing and my military friends have been patient with my constant questions to make sure I’m using the correct terminology. A professional editor will review my work and I have fun ideas for the cover that I’m working on. There is a specific date I have in mind that I would like to have my book published, but I’ll share that as it gets closer. I am confident that it will be available by the end of this year, if not sooner!
Self-publishing feels like being caught in a tornado of emotions. I am excited that I’ll finally get my story out after all this time and nervous and scared to have people read it. Life is about taking baby steps and sometimes great leaps. I’m ready for this next big step!
